The Honorable #7

It was September of 2016 when then-president Barrack Obama sat down with CNN for a Presidential Town Hall. The questions coming from the commentator were the average, but good at the same time. Some questions concerned the up-and-coming election of 2016. But there was one question that surrounded the then-recent National Anthem protest led by former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Speaking on Kaepernick's anthem protest President Obama said that "he was exercising his constitutional right as a citizen."

For this, and this alone I will always respect Obama. Every statement he would make regarding anything would be said with elegance and diplomacy. Barrack Hussein Obama was bigger than Elvis and John Wayne put together. Deep down within the wilderness of The United States of America he is truly missed.

Whoever doesn't understand Kaepernick or his protest let me explain. From the very beginning of this nation the lives of black people have never mattered. It's the year of our lord 2019 and we as black people are still being killed and treated like dogs. I could go down a list of the causalities in the hands of the police. The last ten and a half years will tell it all.

America's anger grew towards Kaepernick and those participating in his protest of the anthem. Negative comments from Stephen. A Smith to Rush Limbaugh were straight sicken to watch and hear. Even our current commander-in-chief would call Kaepernick supporters "sons of bitches." What a role model we have as a representative.

Whether Kaepernick is an athlete on the level of Ali is up for grabs. Regardless of what the close-minded media says about him I will always give Kaepernick credit about/or concerning what he has become as a man. The cause Kaepernick is standing on is bigger than the NFL. You can honestly say that this decade won't be narrated correctly. My only hope is that a new generation of citizens will come up and tell the truth that needs to be told.
